Andrew Bertram - Managing Director / Principal Physiotherapist
Andrew Bertram is a highly accomplished Physiotherapy practitioner who has dedicated the last 30 years of his career to helping patients overcome pain and injury and find their path to recovery. With an educational background that includes both a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 1993 and a Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety from Latrobe University in 2002, he has been standing at the helm of his own practice - Bertram Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre for the last 18 years - as its Founder, Director, Educator and Principal Therapist.
With a wealth of knowledge and experience under his belt working within multiple health settings across Australia and the US, Andrew has focused heavily on innovative evidence based musculoskeletal techniques, Manual Therapies - Joint and soft tissue mobilization, dry needling, and individual tailored exercise prescription ensuring optimal outcomes are achieved.
He works with clients from all walks of life – from elite athletes to those suffering from chronic pain conditions such as osteoarthritis, to complex spinal pain to amputees to helping men recover from Prostatectomy and everything in between. Andrew helps his clients gain control over their lives again by getting them back on track physically, mentally and emotionally. He believes that everyone should have access to quality healthcare services regardless of age or physical condition and strives to empower people through education so they can take charge of their own health. His unwavering dedication to helping others find their way back to health and happiness has earned him a reputation as one of the kindest and most respected practitioners in his industry. Alexander Parker - Physiotherapist
Alex is a highly accomplished physiotherapist, having graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (1st class Honors) from the Australian Catholic University in 2017. With a background in soccer, Alex possesses a keen interest in sport-specific injuries, which prompted the completion of his honors theses on "Injury Surveillance in Australian Community Level Netball".
Alex thrives in treating a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions, from lower back pain and shoulder injuries to sport-related ailments and lower limb conditions. Moreover, Alex's passion for chronic pain management sets him apart.
Throughout his university placements, Alex gained valuable experience in cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, neuro, and orthopaedic settings, further enhancing his expertise.
But what truly sets Alex apart is his friendly and empathetic nature. He is genuinely passionate about assisting clients in achieving their individualized goals. Alex is dedicated to providing exceptional care and ensuring the well-being of every patient he treats.
Jordan Pezzimenti - Physiotherapist
Jordan is a talented therapist with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (1st Class Honors) from the esteemed University of Queensland. Upon graduating in 2017, he joined the Bertram Physiotherapy team, where he has been making a positive impact on the lives of his clients.
With a deep passion for sports-related injuries, spinal pain, shoulder syndromes and the treatment and management of Vestibular conditions, Jordan always goes above and beyond to create personalized rehabilitation programs. Through a combination of hands-on manual therapy treatments, clinical exercise, and his expertise in anatomy education, he ensures the best possible care for his clients.
Beyond his clinical work, Jordan's fascination with the human body extends to teaching anatomy as a demonstrator at the University of Queensland. He shares his knowledge and expertise with future health professionals, including physiotherapy, medical, occupational therapy, biomedical science, health science, and exercise science students.
In addition to his diverse clinical experience in musculoskeletal practice, Jordan has completed clinical placements in cardiorespiratory, critical care, neurological, geriatric, private practice, and community settings.
Outside of work, Jordan nurtures his passion for music and performing in his band - Goodbye Space Bear, adding another dimension to his engaging and holistic approach to therapy. His unwavering dedication to improving client function and quality of life drives him to provide exceptional care and achieve outstanding client results.
Cindy Xu - Physiotherapist
Meet Cindy Xu, the newest addition to our Bertram Physiotherapy team since the beginning of 2023. A recent graduate with Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honors) from the University of Queensland, Cindy brings fresh insights and contemporary techniques to our practice. Her academic achievements are complemented by a strong background in sports, equipping her with a deeper understanding of athletic injuries and the rehabilitation process.
Cindy's proficiency extends to the niche field of Australian Rules Football. This is not just an area of physical interest for her; it's also a personal passion. Cindy herself is an avid player in the women's competition, giving her first-hand experience of the demands that sport places on an athlete's body. Her dual perspective, as both a player and a physiotherapist, uniquely positions her to effectively manage and treat sport and dance-related injuries within the clinic.
In addition to her sports injury and therapy prowess, Cindy is also skilled in dry needling and managing a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions and chronic pain. Cindy's enthusiasm for health and fitness is infectious, and she is always eager to share her knowledge with patients. She believes in the importance of educating clients about their injuries and treatment options, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process. Cindy's warm and approachable demeanor makes her a natural fit for our team, and she has quickly become a favorite among our clients.
REMEDIAL MASSAGE TEAM
Ned Cattiveria - Remedial Massage Therapist
Ned is a proud Ipswich local with 6 years experience as a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. He has been studying Exercise Science at UQ, before finally being accepted into his dream course of Bachelor of Physiotherapy at USQ this year. Ned has been working as a sports trainer at the Rochedale Rovers Women's team and has a special interest in back and shoulder pain.
